During the time of pregnancy, the blood volume gets increased with the relaxation of vein muscles due to hormonal change. This change tends to give varicose veins.
In order to force blood back to the heart, our veins have series of valves that act in one way direction. This prevents the flow of blood from responding to gravity and from flowing back in our lower extremities. Thus Varicose Vein is caused when one of the valves fails which cause the blood to flow back and stretch out of shape. Unsightly dark lumps and bumps start occurring on the surface of our skin.
